The History

Dating back more than 20 years ago, our founder Willem M. Cronje had a dream of creating an industry-leading company, dedicated to making the overall Engineering & Construction industry a better and seamless experience to the everyday client. In March 1996, the founding of Crontech Consulting was listed.

Since then, Crontech Consulting’s overall experience and creative excellence grew over the years, a proud journey which has evolved as one of our main core values in the Company.

In 2009, Dwayne E. Cronje joined Crontech Consulting, dedicated to implement the most innovative and appropriate solutions the modern world has to offer. The company expanded into the Architectural, Engineering and Property Development sectors in 2010, resulting in what we are well known for today as a complete turnkey development company, in both the Design & Construction Industry.

To date, Crontech Consulting Group consists of the following independent companies; Crontech Consulting Construction, Crontech Consulting Architecture, Crontech Consulting Engineering and Crontech Consulting Properties.

  • The South African Institute of the Interior Design Professions (IID) is the only professional body representing the Interior Design industry in South Africa. It operates nationally with representation in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern and Western Cape.

    The Institute is dedicated to establishing, promoting and maintaining expertise, professionalism, sound business practice and high standards throughout the industry.

    Membership of the IID indicates your status as a qualified, experienced and ethical practicing professional.

    The IID is a Member of IFI, the International Federation of Interior Architects & Designers and a Voluntary Association Member of SACAP, the South African Council for the Architectural Profession.

  • The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) is a regulatory body established in terms of the Architectural Profession Act 44 of 2000 (the Act).

    In terms of the Act, SACAP is responsible for regulating the architectural profession in South Africa and is the only body in South Africa that is authorised to register architectural professionals and bestow the use of engineering titles, such as Pr Arch, P SAT, PAT, PAD, CANT, CSAT, CAT and CAD on persons who have met the requisite professional registration criteria.

    SACAP is responsible for:
    • Providing for registration of persons within the architectural profession;
    • Protecting the public against unprofessional conduct by registered persons;

  • The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is a regulator body of the home building industry. Their goal is to assist and protect housing consumers who have been exposed to contractors who deliver housing units of substandard design, workmanship and poor quality material. No matter the size or value of your home building project the NHBRC is here to protect you, the housing consumer.

    Established in 1998, in accordance with the provisions of The Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act (Act No. 95 of 1998) the NHBRC’s mandate is to protect the interests of housing consumers and to ensure compliance to regulated building industry standards.

    The NHBRC certifies builders who meet regulated industry criteria for technical, construction and financial capabilities. Your home enrolment with the NHBRC insures you against poor building practises. Our quality building inspections ensure that your home is not exposed to structural failure.

  • The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Engineering Profession Act (EPA), 46 of 2000. The ECSA's primary role is the regulation of the engineering profession in terms of this Act. Its core functions are the accreditation of engineering programmes, registration of persons as professionals in specified categories, and the regulation of the practice of registered persons.

    Consequently, the ECSA is the only body in South Africa that is authorised to register engineering professionals and bestow the use of engineering titles, such as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng, Pr Techni Eng, Pr Cert Eng, on persons who have met the requisite professional registration criteria.

  • The Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) was established in 1976 in terms of the Estate Agency Affairs Act 112 of 1976 (‘the Act”), with the mandate to regulate and control certain activities of estate agents in the public interest.

    The EAAB regulates the estate agency profession through ensuring that all persons carrying out the activities of an estate agent, developer or sales associate as a service to the public are registered with the EAAB. A Fidelity Fund Certificate, which is to be renewed each year is issued as evidence of such registration and confirmation that such person is legally entitled to carry out the activities of an estate agent.

    The Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB), which has been reporting to the Minister of Trade and industry since 1976, was transferred to the Department of Human Settlements on 17 May 2012 by Proclamation of the President of the Republic of South Africa.
